GRAND FORKS — After a competitive first set, Grand Forks Red River came away with an emphatic three-set sweep of visiting Grand Forks Central on Tuesday.
Following a 3-0 loss of their own to East Region-leading Fargo Davies, the Roughriders picked up their first EDC points of the season.
The Riders from service carried the tempo of the match. Seven service points in the final frame put a cap on what was a quality effort at the line.
Back-to-back aces from Maren Gothberg, and two service points from Londyn Flanagan in the third set, were a result of a point of emphasis taken from last week's matchups.
"Our service was better tonight than it has been, which allowed us to run more offense," Red River head coach Carolyn Olson said. "Our hitters did a better job of taking care of the ball t
