VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — An event centered around a plan to build a professional sports arena to the Oceanfront drew dozens of people on Tuesday.

The Virginia Beach Arena Corporation held a public town hall, hoping to give residents and others in the community a chance to learn more about the proposed arena.

The proposal involves a 20,000-square-foot, indoor, covered dome that could host concerts, and the hope from those behind the project is that it would attract a professional sports team.

Coleman Ferguson, a Virginia Beach business owner who submitted the proposal, expressed his commitment to seeing the arena become a reality.
