Cleveland Heights voters recalled Mayor Kahlil Seren from office on Sept. 9 in a primary election.
The vote was 6,829, or 82.2%, in favor of a recall amd 1,478, or 17.8% against, according to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.
Seren, the city’s first mayor who began his term on Jan. 1, 2022, did not make the ballot for reelection when he failed to gather the 342 required signatures. Instead, 3,845 Cleveland Heights residents, out of the required 2,900, signed a petition to place Seren on the Sept. 9 ballot – not for reelection, but for recall.
