ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling held its 6th annual "Dispelling the Darkness" event at Rockford University's Fisher Memorial Chapel, bringing survivors together for a candlelight vigil.
The event provided survivors an opportunity to share their personal stories, emphasizing empowerment and reconnection to society after their assaults. Candles were sold to raise funds for the organization's free community services.
