Two months after the Albanese government introduced legislation to strengthen safety in childcare centres, an expert has provided advice to parents and how they can ensure their children are safe when it comes to selecting the right centre for them.
The legislation will allow the federal government to cut off funding to centres that don't meet national standards when it comes to safety and quality.
It is one of the steps the government is taking with the states and territories to protect children in early education and care, in the wake of concerning cases of sexual abuse in childcare centres.
