A man is in custody after a food truck, believed to have been stolen from Brisbane’s CBD, was chased 240 kilometres up the coast by a swarm of police.
The vehicle was taken from Elizabeth Street about 10.15am on Wednesday and driven through north Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast, with multiple police vehicles in tow.
Police also sent a helicopter to track the truck, which eventually came to a stop north of Canterwood Road at Owanyilla, 20 kilometres south of Maryborough.
At 1.53pm, the male driver was arrested at the scene and was assisting police with their inquiries.
“Due to operational and officer safety, no further information is available at this time,” a police spokesperson said.
