Neil Warnock says he’s delighted to see Rob Edwards start so well at Middlesbrough - believing he must have felt like he’d ‘won the pools’ when landing the job this summer.

Perhaps not many people’s first choice, Edwards was the man that Boro officials chose to succeed Michael Carrick. His start at Boro could not have been much better, as he’s quickly put his disappointing end at Luton Town behind him.

He’s overseen four league wins from four, with Boro conceding only one goal in that time. It’s a massive improvement so far on a side that finished disappointingly in tenth position in last season’s Championship. And having sat where Edwards now sits himself, Warnock feels Boro made a great appointment.
