A house is damaged in Wyryki municipality, Poland, Wednesday, after Russian drones violated the country’s airspace during an attack on Ukraine.

The Polish military has shot down drones that violated the country’s airspace during an overnight Russian raid on western Ukraine, marking the first time a NATO member country has responded to an attack.

The military said that around a dozen drones entered the country’s airspace early Wednesday morning, forcing the temporary closure of the Warsaw airport and four others. Fighter jets from the Polish and Dutch air forces scrambled to intercept the drones.
