Emergency services descended on an Oldham street after a car was set on fire .

Crews and police attended Edge Lane Street, in Royton , at around 10.40pm on Tuesday night (September 9).

Witnesses described hearing 'small explosions' before seeing smoke billowing from the area.

Images show flames soaring from the vehicle involved, while officers were seen searching the area after the fire broke out.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed it was called out after a car was set on fire outside a property on Edge Lane Street.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident so far and enquiries remain ongoing this morning (Wednesday), the force says.
