CHAPEL HILL — UNC football coach Bill Belichick walked to the lectern inside the Kenan Football Center on Sept. 9 at 2:09 p.m. for his weekly pregame press conference.
During Belichick ’s 17-minute session with media members, six of the 14 questions asked were related to the Tar Heels ’ offense, which has struggled to pile up points through the first two games of the season.
Combining for 34 points against TCU and Charlotte, UNC (1-1) has started a season with its fewest points in the first two games since scoring 26 points to start 2006. That team, John Bunting’s final squad in Chapel Hill, finished with a 3-9 record.
As for its fewest points in a two-game stretch at any point in a season, you have to go back to the 29 points scored against Miami and Virginia Tech in 2018, Larry Fedora
