NEW YORK CITY, New York — DermaRite Industries has expanded its voluntary nationwide recall of over-the-counter personal care products due to potential contamination with Burkholderia cepacia complex (Bcc), a bacterium that can cause serious or life-threatening infections, particularly in people with weakened immune systems, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration .
The recall now includes additional products beyond the initial four brands announced in August . The FDA is collaborating with DermaRite to ensure consumer safety.
