'An honour' - Bristol Rovers captain Alfie Kilgour reacts to being named Gas player of the month

Alfie Kilgour has thanked the support of Bristol Rovers supporters after the Gas captain was named the club's player of the month for August.

The defender has made an outstanding start to his second spell in blue-and-white quarters following his summer move from Mansfield Town, playing every minute of Rovers' seven league games so far. He also played a key role in helping the Gas secure three consecutive clean sheets in the league for the first time in three-and-a-half years.

Following his return to north Bristol, the 27-year-old was named the club's new captain ahead of the start of the season. READ MORE: Sky Sports EFL pundit provides verdict on what Bristol Rovers must do next after
