LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- All lanes of the northbound 5 Freeway were shut down for hours following a fiery and deadly crash in the Griffith Park area Wednesday morning.
The crash was reported shortly after 3 a.m. near the 134 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Details about what led up to the two-car collision were not available, but one person was trapped in a car that caught fire. That person died at the scene.
All northbound lanes were reopened by 7:30 a.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
