A two-alarm fire spread inside an East Carrollton house early Tuesday morning, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.

Firefighters worked to douse a blaze that had spread to the attic of the house on the 1500 block of South Carrollton Avenue, photos by the New Orleans Fire Department show.

The fire appeared to be mostly contained by 7 a.m.

The house first caught on fire just before 4 a.m., firefighters told WDSU .

While the home was vacant and for sales, neighbors reported squatters. Firefighters told WWL-Louisiana that the fire started at the front of the house and made its way to the back.

There were previous fires at the building.

There have been no reports of injuries and the fire was contained to the one house.
