That's how Mike Mijatov describes the new cafe he's opened with his wife, Marija, in Schererville.
Although Mijatov's cafe, Mist Village, is tucked away in a strip mall off Route 30, in a bright, open space with pictures on either wall of the Serbian countryside, the culinary experience that inspires the Mijatovs is very different.
In Mijatov's native city of Zrenjanin, you are likely to find Cevapi and other grilled meat offered by small mobile vendors and stalls along the city's busier streets and squares. The meats are often served with Serbian bread and cheese, such as the delicious urnebes, which is made with hot chili peppers and sweet paprika.
