SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The phones and electronics we use every day are impacting the homes of Chilean Flamingos.
Their habitats are where the lithium used to make rechargeable batteries is mined, but there is also a way for old, unused electronics to help save their home.
The Dickerson Park Zoo is part of AZA Saving Animals From Extinction, and they are expanding their conservation efforts by teaming up with Ecocell to offer a cell phone recycling drop-off box at the zoo.
