The city issued a permit Sept. 9 for a $2 million project to demolish the existing Jacksonville Shipyards marina structures and replace the dock on the Downtown Northbank of the St. Johns River.
Hal Jones Contractor, a division of Vecellio & Grogan Inc., is the contractor.
Moffatt & Nichol of Tampa is part of the design-build team for design of the floating dock marina replacement. The project is addressed is as 1406 E. Bay St.
A Moffatt & Nichol memorandum dated Sept. 20, 2024, refers to work associated with demolition of the existing marina structures and utilities; maintenance dredging to provide suitable water depths; and replacement of the fixed and floating docks and utilities with floating concrete docks and utilities that include shore power, fuel, potable water, sewage pump out
