Dare Commissioners create working group to evaluate major plan to improve county recreation facilities

After hearing an extensive presentation on a plan to improve Dare County Parks and Recreation facilities at their Sept. 3 meeting, the Dare County Commissioners decided to create a working group to further evaluate the proposals.

The presentation from the firm of McGill and Associates comes after a survey included in the Dare County Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment found that nearly 90% of respondents said they had used a recreation facility or participated in a recreation program, with most facilities rated as being in “good” or “excellent” condition.
