CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Headliners for America's River Roots Festival will no longer be performing in the Queen City.

Maren Morris, Mt. Joy, Walker Hayes, Weezer and Janelle Monáe were all pulled from the setlist just one month before the festival begins, organizers confirmed with FOX19 NOW in a statement Wednesday.

The announcement came out Tuesday in a newsletter, which states that the festival has "pivoted the focus of the music series to include free performances by regional and local bands."

According to a statement from festival officials, it was a "difficult" choice to change the entertainment portion of the five-day event, which is expected to bring in more than 1 million people.

Organizers say all ticketholders have been refunded.
