LINCOLNTON, Ga. (WJBF) - After 13 years on the job, the police chief of Lincolnton, Brandon Lively, has been fired.

City council members made that decision on Monday.

A statement from the city thanked Lively for his service but the Mayor and Council believe it's in the best interest for a change in leadership for law enforcement.

On September 8, 2025, the City of Lincolnton removed Brandon Lively from the position of Police Chief. The City appreciates Mr. Lively's service to the community, but, at this time, the Mayor and Council believe it is in the best interest of the City to consider a change in leadership for law enforcement.
