GROVETOWN, Ga (WJBF)- A long running after school program in Columbia County has been suspended after losing important federal funding.

The Dream Academy has been a vital resource for many families in Columbia County for after school care for their children for around 13 years.

The program, run by Columbia County Community Connections (CCCC), has been shut down until the nonprofit can replace funding to get it going again.

"I think our word that we keep using is heartbreaking. I mean, for us, because I miss the kids. Our building is usually full of kids and it's fun," said Chaz Saltzman, Development Director at CCCC.
