Highs on Wednesday topped out just around 90. We are expecting temperatures closer to mid-90s for the rest of the week and this weekend. We are not expecting any rain chances during this period.

Wednesday marks the official peak of the Atlantic hurricane season

There is only one system being watched out for in the Atlantic, and there is only a 20% that it will develop into a tropical storm.

This lull in activity around the peak is extremely rare. The Azores high has shifted south because of a core of cooler water near the center of the Atlantic basin. This has increased shear for tropical waves coming off Africa and allowed for more dust (dry air) to interact with development. The forecast continues for an active season.
