In the wake of the stabbing incident at Monache last May the Porterville Unified School District continues to be in the process of implementing tighter safety protocols to begin the school year.
But the district has also implemented random drug testing for all athletes at the high school level and it continues to be at an impasse with the Porterville Educators Association, which represents the district's teachers.
