(TMX) - A worker was rescued Monday after falling some 40 feet into a corn silo at a Frito-Lay plant in Denver, officials said.
The Denver Fire Department said crews and a technical rescue team responded to the Frito-Lay plant near 37th Avenue and North Lima Street following a report that an employee had fallen approximately 40 feet into a corn silo.
In an update, the fire department said that the worker was “not stuck in the corn” but still needed to be extricated from the silo from above.
A rope and harness were lowered down to the worker in the silo, and they were able to put it on without assistance, as a safety measure while crews assembled a “lowering/lifting system” above the silo.
