SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Elementary and middle schools across the nation have access to a substance prevention education program, thanks to one organization based in Sioux Falls.
Emily’s Hope has officially launched its K-8 Substance Use Prevention Curriculum and is now available to schools nationwide.
The new curriculum has been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals, including the International Journal of Addiction Research and Treatment.
Emily’s Hope is a South Dakota-based nonprofit that aims to prevent future deaths from overdose and fentanyl poisonings.
The program was founded by Sioux Falls journalist Angel Kennecke, mother of Emily Groth, who died of fentanyl poisoning in 2018.
