WATERLOO, Iowa — An SUV crashed into the Waterloo mural this morning, causing significant disruption in the area.

The crash occurred just before 11 a.m. near the corner of East Fourth Street and Sycamore Street. First responders quickly arrived and transported the driver from the scene. Although the driver's injuries have not been confirmed, they were reported to be alert at the time.

The store behind the mural, Ivy Trellis Cards and Gifts, sustained significant damage. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
