A 16-year-old boy is accused of murdering JahVai Roy – an eight-year-old boy killed by a stray bullet while in bed in his North York apartment last month.

Shockingly, the accused was actually only 15 at the time of the deadly shooting.

And two other teenagers are being sought for their alleged involvement in the young boy’s killing.

Toronto Police officers responded to the shooting in the area of Martha Eaton Way and Trethewey Dr. just before 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 16 and found the fatally injured boy in his family’s apartment.

JahVai was rushed to hospital where he died.

“He was at home when a group of people brazenly fired guns outside of his apartment building,” Chief Myron Demkiw told a news conference Wednesday. “A stray bullet struck him while he was in bed – in bed in his own room,
