LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An off-duty Louisville officer is hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash Tuesday evening in the Newburg neighborhood.
At about 11 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to an injury accident in the intersection of Fern Valley Road and Roederer Drive, according to an LMPD news release.
Officers on scene found a collision between between an F-150 and a semi-truck. The driver of the F-150 was an off-duty LMPD officer and had to be extracted from the vehicle, authorities say.
The off-duty officer was transported to UofL Hospital with "serious injuries," according to LMPD officials. The driver of the semi tractor is expected to survive.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating along with other units, according to the news release.
