Traverse City eatery ranks among America's best

Modern Bird in Traverse City receives huge kudos for being named to the list of America's best.

A recently released New York Times list names the 50 best restaurants in America right now.

A 50-seat Traverse City eatery is hailed as one of the best in the U.S. right now, making the New York Times list of the "50 Best Restaurants in America, " and the only Michigan restaurant to do so.

Ranking among the list of 50 is northern Michigan’s Modern Bird restaurant.

Modern Bird’s designation on the list gives a big nod not only to the eatery at 541 W. Front St. but to the Traverse City area and its overall restaurant scene.

The New York Times’ Sara Bonisteel cited Traverse City as having a strong farm-to-table scene.
