CLEVELAND, Ohio — The city of Cleveland has announced plans to close the eastbound (inbound) Shoreway from West 45th Street to West 28th Street starting after this Friday's (Sept. 12) morning rush hour at approximately 10 a.m.

The road is scheduled to reopen in time for the Monday morning commute.

In a release, the city said the closing of the stretch of the East Shoreway comes after a "major" water main break near West 45th Street last week, causing "significant flooding." Crews will be able to complete "urgent repairs" to the damaged water main under the roadway.

"Evening commutes will not be impacted — the westbound (outbound) Shoreway will remain fully open throughout the closure," the city added.
