At the Holmes County Regional Correctional Facility, a group of men is proving that talent and determination can forge brighter futures. Recently, a class of inmates completed their welding training, earning certificates of achievement and showcasing their skills through hands-on projects — including a custom-built grill that demonstrates both creativity and craftsmanship.

The welding program, supported by Sheriff Willie March and Warden Barry Rule, is designed to reduce idleness, keep participants focused, and provide them with practical skills that translate directly into the workforce. A new cohort of trainees is already set to begin this fall.
