Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor Chair Kathryn Barger announced this week that the pool at Loma Alta Park in Altadena will remain open through Oct. 31, 2025, thanks to a boost of funding from her office.

Barger, whose supervisorial district includes Altadena, said the extension offers the area’s residents an added chance to enjoy low-cost lap swim, water exercise classes, swim lessons, and free swim hours well into the fall season.

The extension comes as the unincorporated area gradually heals from the Jan.7 Eaton fire, which took at least 19 lives and destroyed thousands of structures.
