FOLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Foley City Council approved applications for transportation grants in order to move ahead with plans to make improvements to the Foley Airport.

According to a City of Foley news release, the grants would fund 10 new T-hangars and allow other improvements at the airport.

The airport currently has 48 hangars, all of which are leased, and more than 100 applicants are on a waiting list. Eight of those hangars were built in 2024.

The hangars would be built in a 248-foot by 60-foot building south of the apron, an area where planes are parked. This is near where the existing T-hangars are.
