MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — This week, we honor Caroline Downey as the WKRG News 5 Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Downey is a senior at Spanish Fort High School, where she has played varsity volleyball for four years.

She plays for the Lower Alabama Volleyball Club and was named to the 2024 6A State Championship First Team.

Downey is part of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. She is also a member of Peer Helpers and Project Outreach.

She has a 4.4 GPA and received a volleyball scholarship to Mississippi College.
