A St. John’s man accused of manslaughter had a brief appearance in provincial court today.
Twenty-three-year-old Dylan Baker was charged following the death of 63-year-old Edgar Learning.
He was found with serious injuries in the Rabbittown area of St. John’s shortly before 1:00 a.m. on June 17th. He was rushed to hospital, but died the next day.
A day after that, Baker was charged with manslaughter, assault with a weapon and possessing one for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of probation.
Baker appeared via video today from HMP, where he remains in custody.
The case was set over until October 10th while the defence waits to receive remaining disclosure evidence from the Crown.
