After eight years of building its psychiatric services, Bozeman Health has reached a major milestone: The opening of its adult inpatient psychiatric unit, the first of its kind in southwest Montana.

Set to welcome patients ages 18 and older next week, the unit includes 14 beds, six double rooms and two single rooms, and is expected to serve about 700 patients per year. A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, featuring remarks from hospital leadership, Gallatin County Commissioner Zach Brown and Bozeman Health Chief Philanthropy Officer Matt Miller, marked the occasion.
