A British student locked up in a Dubai jail dubbed the UAE's 'Alcatraz' has sparked a warning to other tourists from the UK that they too could well be locked up for offences that would be considered "minor or non-existent" back home. ‌

Mia O'Brien is said to be enduring a "living hell" behind the bars of the infamous Al-Awir Central Prison, after being allegedly caught with 50 grams of cocaine in the Middle East. The Liverpool University student has been sentenced to life and also has to pay a whopping £100,000 fine. ‌
