A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of Scott Boyd near Lanark.

Sean McIntyre, 35, was arrested and charged on Tuesday after an incident took place on a street in Kirkmuirhill on August 17. Scott, 30, was found seriously injured and tragically he was pronounced dead at the scene.

McIntyre, from West Lothian, appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday charged with murder. He also faced a charge of attempting to pervert the court of justice.

He made no plea, was remanded in custody and will appear again at the court within eight days, reports the Record .
