Crews are working to recover the nearly 70 heavy shipping containers that fell off a cargo ship into the water at the Port of Long Beach.
The 2-ton containers were stacked on the vessel Mississippi Tuesday morning when they toppled into the water . Some landed on a barge next to the cargo ship, which arrived earlier that morning from China with merchandise that included clothing, shoes, electronics and furniture.

Some merchandise and boxes could be seen floating in the water, but most of the containers that went into the water did not break open.
