A Florida inmate was caught on camera spitting at and trying to attack a judge inside a courtroom on Wednesday, authorities said.

Martin County Sheriff's Office officials said 46-year-old Evan Paul McCullough was appearing before Judge William Roby for a hearing when the chaos ensued.

The video showed McCullough, wearing a striped inmate jumpsuit, spitting at Roby then lunging toward him in an attempt to attack him, officials said.

Deputies quickly stepped in and McCullough was wrestled to the ground.

McCullough, who had been arrested last October on charges including battery on an officer, is now charged with battery on a judge/person over 65 and corruption by threat.
