MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Bishop State Community College is getting ready to host its first home women's flag football games this weekend, a news release said.
The Alabama Community College Conference started the league this year, becoming one of the first community college systems in the nation to offer women's flag football.
“Flag football has exploded across the state at the high-school level, and we want to capitalize on that," ACCC Commissioner Dean Myrick said. "It's a discussion we've had for a few years, and I'm proud it's come to fruition."
Bishop State will host Lurleen B. Wallace Community College and Shelton State Community College in a doubleheader Sunday at Sage Park, 2900 Dauphin Street in Mobile.
