Baltimore police Commissioner Richard Worley said if President Donald Trump decides to deploy National Guard troops into Baltimore, the police department would be ready.

Without saying whether the troops should be brought to Baltimore, Worley told WBAL’s T.J. Smith that the police department would work with the National Guard.

“That’s way above my pay grade on whether they come or don’t come,” Worley said. “But we have a plan if they do come.”

Worley noted that he has a good working relationship with the guard, even resolving a recent dispute to allow police cadets to continue to train on a National Guard firing range in Baltimore County.
