ANN ARBOR, MI — University of Michigan Interim President Domenico Grasso addressed combating antisemitism at the school’s inaugural Samantha Woll Dialogue on Tuesday.

The Sept. 10 event in the Rackham Amphitheater, titled “Should Universities Adopt a Definition of Antisemitism?”, was the first of eight conversations throughout the 2025-26 school year on religious hate and oppression, with a special focus on antisemitism. The events, named after the Jewish synagogue leader who was murdered in October 2023 , are free and open to the public.

Grasso expressed support for Jewish students, faculty and staff at the university in his opening remarks. This comes at a time where there is federal scrutiny on the university’s handling of antisemitism on campus.
