Former taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he hopes pushback against social progress is “just a phase” the world is going through.

Mr Varadkar was speaking at a launch event for his new memoir, Speaking My Mind, held at the National Library of Ireland in Dublin and hosted by former RTÉ journalist Bryan Dobson.
