Orem • Right-wing political commentator Charlie Kirk was shot during a speaking appearance at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

Multiple witnesses said Kirk was shot, and university officials confirmed that Kirk had been hit. His condition is unclear.

The shooter has not been detained, an Orem Fire official said, and on campus, law enforcement officers dressed in SWAT gear were sweeping buildings.
