DENVER — At least two students have been wounded in a shooting at a suburban Denver high school, authorities said Wednesday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the students were injured in a shooting at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, about 30 miles west of Denver, and taken to the hospital. No other details about the shooting have been released.

"I am closely monitoring the situation at Evergreen High School, and am getting live updates," Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said in a statement . "State Troopers are supporting local law enforcement in responding to this situation. Students should be able to attend school safely and without fear across our state and nation. We are all praying for the victims and the entire community."
