ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)- Police in Roanoke have arrested a woman in connection with the death of her two-month-old son.

Police said the child, identified as Aka-rri Burnette-Coleman, was found deceased on Feb. 14, at a residence in the 600 block of Hanover Avenue NW.

At the time, the child's mother told police that she and her baby were sleeping in the same bed, according to the press release. When she awoke, she claimed her child was unconscious.

The Office of the Medical Examiner later determined the child died from "suffocation and acute methamphetamine toxicity."

Lindsey Renee Burnette, 37, of Roanoke, was indicted by a grand jury on charges of felony homicide, child abuse and neglect creating serious injury, and child cruelty.

She was arrested on Sept. 3.
