HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- In celebration of 100 years of promoting arts and culture in the greater Hartford area, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has announced plans to invest $6 million to local programs and organizations over the next two years.

According to a release from the foundation, the investments will include $4 million worth of one-time "Appreciation Grants" for 48 local arts and culture organizations, $1 million for the Artists of Color Accelerate fellowship program, $460,000 to launch a grant program for creatives in collaboration with Assets for Artists and $400,000 to create a grant and capacity building program in collaboration with CT Humanities.
