ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — The charges against former University of South Florida football coach Jim Leavitt, who was arrested in August have been dropped.

Leavitt was accused of domestic battery and grand theft after an arrest affidavit said that Leavitt's ex-girlfriend claimed he grabbed her by the arm, shoved another man, and that he stole her Louis Vuitton purse.

According to court documents, on Wednesday, the state of Florida dropped all charges against the esteemed football coach, concluding that "the facts and circumstances revealed do not warrant prosecution at this time."
