Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University Sept. 10.

Kirk was speaking at an event on the campus in Orem, Utah, as part of Turning Point USA's "The American Comeback Tour." The tour was scheduled to make a stop at Colorado State University later this month .

President Donald Trump shared his sympathies for the Kirk family in a post on Truth Social.

"No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!" Trump's post said.
